I have had many patients ask me through my years in dentistry, how do you do what you do? To many people, working in the mouth, and not only working in it, enjoying and loving my work, is something they can’t quite understand. And after some self reflection, I have come to the the realization that my passions in life are perfectly suited for my calling to be a dentist.
Art, science, and people. That’s is the gift that dentistry gives me everyday. For as long as I can remember , I have always loved art. Some of my earliest memories are me with a pencils and paper drawing. Then, as I went through school, I discovered I also had a natural inclination for science. Friends of my family’s were teachers and would give us old text books, and I would spend afternoons looking through them learning about what lightning is or how flowers grow. That love for science and art is a great foundation for dentistry. But it wouldn’t mean as much without my third love, getting to work with people.
This love for dentistry has led me here, to Oxboro Family Dental. To a place where this incredible team has been providing care for their patients for many years.
Dr. Saldarriaga is a board certified Prosthodontist. He specializes in treating and handling dental and facial problems that involve restoring missing tooth and jaw structures. Prosthodontists are highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, restorative dentistry, and more. Essentially, prosthodontists are the recognized experts with anything that needs to be replaced in your mouth. Dr. Saldarriaga obtained his DDS from the prestigious UCSF School of Dentistry and completed a three-year residency in Prosthodontics as well as his Masters of Science degree at the University of Minnesota (UMN). Dr. Saldarriaga has been practicing dentistry for more than 14 years in the Twin Cities and is part time Faculty at UMN school of Dentistry During his free time he likes to spend time with his wife Sara and lovely son Victor.
Alexandra Is a Dental Hygienist. She graduated from both Normandale and Metropolitain State with an associate and bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene.
She has been part of Oxboro Family Dental’s team since 2022.
Alexandra enjoys spending her time away from the office watching movies, binging TV shows, and being with her family.
Sandy Is a Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in Dental Hygiene.
She has been part of Oxboro Family Dental’s team since 1991.
Sandy enjoys spending her time away from the office with family and friends. She also loves to garden in the summer months and is involved in a local women’s club that keeps her very busy.
Anita Is a Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Argosy Unniversity in 2003 with a degree in Dental Hygiene.
She has been part of Oxboro Family Dental’s team since 2023.
Anita enjoys spending her time away from the office with her family, and grandkids. She enjoys outdoor activities at her cabin in Wisconsin, long walks, bible studies, and reading if there is any free time after family events.
Denise is a licensed Dental Assistant; she has been with Oxboro Family Dental since 1989.
She was raised in Bloomington, graduating from Kennedy High School, and enjoys seeing familiar faces of patients from the old neighborhood.
While away from the office she loves spending time with her sons, and two granddaughters who keep her busy watching basketball, cheer, dance, and softball.
She has been in the dental field since 2021, as a Dental Assistant.
Cristina has been working with Dr. Sara since 2022 helping you feel more comfortable during your appointments.
In her spare time Cristina enjoys adventuring to new places with friends. She also loves attending live sports events, especially the WNBA.
She has been in the dental field since 1997, both in the business office and as a Licensed and Certified Dental Assistant.
Michelle has been working with what she calls an amazing team here since 2010 and is an integral part of what happens in the practice.
In her spare time Michelle enjoys being with her family and friends.
She has been in the dental field since 2022, she previously worked as a compliance and CACFP coordinator in conjunction with the USDA Food Program, and she was also a daycare provider for 12 years prior to that.
Prior to working with Dr. Sara, Ellie was her patient! Ellie’s Mom convinced her to see Dr. Sara, despite her dental phobia, and give her a chance. She says “It was the best decision ever!”
In her spare time Ellie enjoys spending time with her family and going to concerts with her Fiancé.
She has been in the dental field since 1980, both in the business office and as a Licensed Dental Assistant. She took a 10 year break from dentistry to open a restaurant in Tucson, AZ. She then moved bank to Minnesota to be near family and started working with Dr. Sara.
Deb has been working with Dr. Sara since 2018, starting in Eden Prairie and then moving with her to Bloomington in 2022.
In her spare time Deb enjoys refinishing furniture, traveling, and spending time with her grandbabies.
